Bendoc

Martha Isabella Eileen Shaw (my great grandmother) was born in the Bendoc area, as were a couple of her brothers, Ada Warne, a few Rankins and Williamsons. It was, as many boom towns in Victoria were, a centre for gold mining, and has since died back to a hotel, a post office, a phone box and a scattering of houses, although there was also a bright and shiny DSE building in town as well.
